At the heart of Rox Resort lies our signature restaurant, Smith, where uncompromising quality, and international inspiration go hand in hand. We are now seeking a passionate sommelier and waiter with strong hospitality skills, professional pride and a natural presence in every guest interaction.
The role
We’re looking for someone who is passionate about wine and skilled in both classic and modern service. You are present in the moment, love hosting, and know how to transform your knowledge into warm, down-to-earth experiences for our guests.
You will become a key part of Smith’s service team, a colleague who takes responsibility, creates overview, and helps maintain a calm, professional, and welcoming atmosphere, even when the pace picks up.
At Smith, we work with gastronomy, storytelling and craftsmanship. Therefore, you should be comfortable presenting wine, recommending pairings, flambéing, carving, or stepping to the table to elevate the experience when the occasion calls for it.
Your primary responsibilities
- Present and serve wine with passion, storytelling, and professionalism
- Advise on wine selections and help assemble wine menus in collaboration with the kitchen and bar
- Take active part in mise en place, preparation, and setup
- Flambéing, carving, and classic tableside service when it forms part of the experience
- Ensure flow, structure and calm during service and act as an anchor for both team and guests
We’re looking for someone who
- Has solid experience from restaurants or hotels with a high service level
- Has wine knowledge or education and the desire to grow it further
- Is present, genuine and passionate about people
- Reads guests well and understands atmosphere and dynamics
- Thrives with pace, responsibility and teamwork
- Wants to help shape the culture in a new and ambitious resort
- Contributes to the training and development of colleagues
